Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Apogee Lens browser extension only. The Apogee app has its own, separate privacy policy.

What we collect

Nothing personal. Apogee Lens does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. There is no account, no sign-up, and no login.

Your FIRE inputs stay on your device

The numbers you enter (annual spending, current investments, monthly savings) and your preferences are stored only in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device. We do not use synced storage, so nothing is copied to your Google account or across your devices. Your inputs are never uploaded, shared, or sent to us or anyone else.

Market data

To show opportunity-cost figures, the extension fetches public market data (a quote's price and 1-year return) from Yahoo Finance for SPY and any tickers you choose to watch. These requests are sent directly from your browser to Yahoo Finance — they never pass through our servers (we don't operate any). They contain no personal data and nothing about you or the pages you visit; they only ask for public quotes, and results are cached locally. If a request fails, the extension falls back to bundled sample data. Yahoo Finance's own data practices are governed by its privacy policy.

No tracking, no analytics, no selling
